1. What is TOTP and Google Authenticator?





TOTP, or Time-Based One-Time Password, is an algorithm that generates a unique, one-time use password based on the current time. This adds an additional layer of security through two-step verification. Google Authenticator is a popular mobile app that implements TOTP.

DANAconnect integrates TOTP to secure access to its platforms and protect sensitive data. This guide explains how to link Google Authenticator with your DANAconnect account.

IMPORTANT: Multifactor Authentication is not installed by default on DANAconnect accounts. It is a feature available only for the Enterprise Edition and its initial configuration must be requested to the Account Manager assigned to your account.


2. Benefits of Using TOTP with DANAconnect

3. Initial Setup of Google Authenticator for DANAconnect





To start, you will need to have the Google Authenticator app installed on your mobile device.

Download Google Authenticator: Available on Google Play Store or Apple App Store.

Scan the QR Code: Use Google Authenticator to scan the QR code provided by DANAconnect.

Confirmation: Enter the code generated by Google Authenticator in DANAconnect to complete the setup.




4. Generating and Using TOTP Codes





Each time you log in to DANAconnect, you will be asked for a TOTP code.

Open Google Authenticator: On your mobile device.

Select DANAconnect: From the list of accounts in Google Authenticator.

Enter the Code in DANAconnect: The code displayed in the app is only valid for a short period.









5. Troubleshooting Common Issues





- Incorrect Code: Ensure that your device's time is synchronized correctly.
- Loss of Mobile Device: Contact DANAconnect support to reset your access.
- Error Scanning QR Code: Try entering the manual key provided by DANAconnect at the time of initial account setup.
