Understanding Viewing Groups and Their Purpose

Viewing Groups are restrictions applied within DANAconnect to control which users can see specific content or data. This feature is crucial for managing access and ensuring that sensitive information is only visible to authorized personnel.

Purpose of Viewing Groups:

Data Security: Restrict access to sensitive data by assigning it to specific viewing groups, ensuring only authorized users can view it.
User Management: Simplify user roles and permissions by grouping users based on their roles or departments, and assigning appropriate viewing rights.
Compliance: Ensure that your organization adheres to data protection regulations by controlling who can access certain types of information.

How to create and manage Viewing Groups:

Access the Configurations section: From the main dashboard, navigate to the "Configurations" area.
Create a new Viewing Group: Within the configurations, find the option to create a new Viewing Group. Assign a name and define the parameters.
Assign users to the group: Add users to the Viewing Group based on their roles and the information they need to access.
Apply Viewing Groups to content: When uploading or managing content, apply the appropriate Viewing Group restrictions to control who can view the data.

Using Viewing Groups effectively helps you maintain data security and streamline user access within your organization.
